About Us

Welcome to Connecting Karnali, a digital window to the heart of Nepal’s Karnali region, showcasing its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and vibrant local communities.

Through this platform, we aim to bridge the gap between the remote yet culturally and naturally abundant Karnali region and Kathmandu, Nepal’s federal capital. Inspired by the ongoing “Connecting Karnali” campaign launched by the Managhari Foundation, this website serves as an extension of the exhibitions and showcases happening across Nepal to highlight the region’s beauty to the world.

The Essence of Karnali

Karnali is more than just a geographic region; it is a cultural treasure trove and a natural wonder. Home to serene landscapes like the snow-capped mountains of Mugu, the deep cultural heritage of Dolpa, and the vibrant life of the Raute community, Karnali is an emerging destination for both domestic and international tourists. Through stunning photographs, captivating videos, and local artisanal products, we bring to life the stories of the people, culture, and nature of Karnali.

Karnali and Sudurpachim are two of my favourite places in Nepal. They are rich not only in natural beauty but also in culture and art. People should really go to these two provinces and see what real Nepal looks like.
